Hives (Urticaria), is a kind of skin rash notable for pale red, raised, itchy bumps. Hives are frequently caused by allergic reactions; however, there are many non-allergic causes.
Most cases of hives lasting less than six weeks are the result of an allergic trigger.
While you're waiting for hives and swelling to disappear, here are some tips:
Apply cool compresses or wet cloths to the affected areas.
Try to work and sleep in a cool room.
Wear loose-fitting lightweight clothes. For most people, hives are not serious. In some people, though, hives may be a sign of an internal disease.
Check with your dermatologist or health care provider to help determine the cause and treatment of your hives if needed.
Any of our skin moisturizers would be helpful in reducing the dryness and itching.
